He was involved in the production of "How Do You Live?", which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 96th Academy Awards, as a CG director under director Hayao Miyazaki.
He retired from a trading company in 2000, and completed the Digital Hollywood Master's Course in 2001.
He then joined "Studio Ghibli."
Engaged in animation CG production from "Howl's Moving Castle".
Since then, he has been involved in all CG parts of Studio Ghibli works such as "Tales from Earthsea", "Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea", "The Borrower's Arrietty", "From Up on Poppy Hill", and "The Wind Rises".
