DIGITAL FRONTIER GRAND PRIX 2025

From over 2,000 works created at Digital Hollywood in 2024, each category award and the prestigious Grand Prix have been decided.

ABOUT

The Digital Frontier Grand Prix is the award held by Digital Hollywood Inc.
Digital Hollywood, a school specializing in creator training mainly for working adults and university students,
and Digital Hollywood University, a university approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology (Bachelor and Master of Professional Studies).
The creative award is held in conjunction with the joint entrance ceremony of Digital Hollywood,
Digital Hollywood University and Digital Hollywood University Graduate School (Bachelor's and Master's degrees).

The awards will be presented to the students for their works created in the previous year,
including live-action video, CG, graphics, apps, web, and installations.
The concept has been to hold the Creative Awards during the ceremony to honor the works
created by the students in the previous year.

在学中よりOJT等を通じWebデザイナー/グラフィックデザイナーとしての活動を開始。2009年に大学を卒業後、エディトリアルデザイナーとして企業広報誌の制作に従事。その後、ゲームグラフィック＆UIデザイナーに転身し、ベンチャー企業にて東証マザーズ上場から東証一部上場までの成長を経験。2014年より現職。モバイルゲームのデザインやディレクション、ファンイベントのクリエイティブやグッズのプロダクトデザインなどを担当。多岐にわたるデザインスキルとディレクション経験を活かし、プレイヤー体験を高めるクリエイティブに取り組んでいる。

2012年にデジタルハリウッド大学卒業後、OLMデジタルにてキャリアをスタート。
2017年にカナダのバンクーバーに渡り、Sony Pictures lmageworksにアニメーターとして所属。
2023年よりWalt Disney Animation Studiosにてアニメーターとして在職中。参加作品は『モアナと伝説の海2』(2024)、『ジェイコブと海の怪物』(2022)、『モンスタ一・ホテル4』(2022)、『モンスター・ペット』(2021)、『ミッチェル家とマシンの反乱』(2021)、『スパイダーマン：スパイダーバース』(2019)、『モンスター・ホテル3』(2018)など。

神戸女学院大学卒、デジタルハリウッド大学大学院修了（2006）。
「ガイアの夜明け」「ザ・ノンフィクション」をはじめとしたドキュメンタリーのディクレターとして活動する中、2008年に映像制作会社「クレンナルー」設立。NHK WORLDにて英語の番組制作を行ないながらジャーナリストとしてニュース番組にも出演。現在は日米合同のドキュメンタリー映画を撮影中。

2012年にデジタルハリウッドスクール週末CGアニメーション専攻を修了。現在はフリーランスのXRアーティストとして活動している。
VRアニメーション『Sen』、VR演劇『Typeman』をはじめ、ヴェネチア国際映画祭、カンヌ国際映画祭、SIGGRAPHなど、世界の著名なイベントで作品を発表。ヴェネチア国際映画祭のXR部門では、2019年から監督を務めるVRアニメーション作品が6年連続で上映、5年連続でノミネート。

近年はTencent Holdings傘下のアニメーション事業や、NCSoftの日本事業運営を行うNCJAPANでの活動など、国境を超えたグローバル事業におけるマネジメントなど、後進の育成に尽力する。

2015年にデジタルハリウッド大学を卒業後、QuizKnockを運営している株式会社batonへ入社。クイズをテーマとするクイズソーシャルゲーム『チノクライシス』のリードエンジニアを経験。その後、WebメディアQuizKnockの開発に携わる。続いて再びゲーム制作を希望し、YouTubeチャンネル「QuizKnock」の人気コンテンツ「限界しりとり」をスマホゲーム化し、『限界しりとりMobile』としてリリース。100万ダウンロードを達成した。その他に開発したゲーム『白地図マインスイーパ』もAppStoreパズル部門で1位を獲得している。

デジタルハリウッド大学卒。デジタルやテクノロジー分野での経験を武器に、未来志向のクリエイティブ開発やSFプロトタイピングを得意とする。JAAAクリエイター・オブ・ザ・イヤー2020メダリスト。
主な仕事に、障害者の社会参画をテーマにした「分身ロボットカフェDAWN ver.β」（オリィ研究所）、微弱な電気のチカラで減塩食の塩味やうま味を引き出していく食器型デバイス「エレキソルト」（キリンホールディングス）など。Cannes Lions、CES Innovation Awards、Prix Ars Electronica、D&AD、文化庁メディア芸術祭、グッドデザイン賞ほか受賞歴多数。

1990年熊本県出身。大学卒業後、大手化粧品メーカーに営業職として就職。九州エリア全域を担当し、美容室の経営支援やイベント企画、商品開発に携わる。
7年間のサラリーマン生活を経て、アウトドアに関連する仕事を目指し、シリコンバレー研修後、G's ACADEMY Fukuoka DEV2に入学。GGAでで優勝。2019年にキャンプ女子株式会社を法人化し、現在は全国のアウトドア施設のコンサルタントや広報・PR活動を行い、熊本県にキャンプ場を建設中。趣味は車中泊。

叔母の影響で絵を描くことに興味を持ち、人を笑顔にするデザインを学びたいと考えるようになる。大学ではグラフィックデザインを専攻し、広告やロゴ制作に取り組むほか、演劇団体に所属し役者としても活動中。

Hiroshi Asaeda
PSA Japan General Manager

In 2006, he established his own business while studying at Digital Hollywood Graduate School, founding Meltingdots Inc., a virtual space consulting company, and became its CEO. He was involved in the operation of one of the largest metaverse communities in Japan, as well as collaborating with major corporations, and supporting foreign companies entering the Japanese market. In 2012, he founded Beatrobo Inc., a music startup in the United States and became its CEO. He then gained experience at a US-based startup studio, as well as Mirrative Inc. and at Mercari Inc. Following this, he took on the role of the General Manager of PSA Japan, part of Collectors Universe Inc.. He grew up in the United States and is bilingual. He also works as a book translator alongside his business. Graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University Faculty of Business and Management and holds a master's degree in Digital Content Management (DCM) from Digital Hollywood Graduate School.

Tanana Yagi
GREE, Inc. Designer

Student in the inaugural class of Digital Hollywood University. While studying, Yagi took part in OJT pieces and began working as a web designer / graphic designer. After graduating from university in 2009, Yagi worked as an editorial designer, creating corporate PR magazine. She then switched to a career as a game graphic and UI designer, and experienced the growth of the venture company from its listing on TSE Mothers to TSE First Section. Yagi has been in current position since 2014. She is in charge of mobile game design and direction, as well as creative work for fan events and product design for goods. Utilizing her wide-ranging design skills and directing experience, she is working on creative projects that enhance the player experience.
Naoki Kitazawa

Character Designer / Illustrator / Adobe Community Evangelist

Kitazawa is good at drawing characters with a unique world view and illustrations that specialize in cuteness. He is in charge of creating characters for artists/talents, deformation work for IP characters such as "ONE PIECE" and "Ghost in the Shell S.A.C", and also he is in charge of all character designs for the game "True Type Medarot". He has also created numerous illustrations and logo designs for media, including TV programs and newspapers. Appeared on the Adobe MAX 2023 Keynote. Co-author of " Photoshop & Illustrator x Adobe Firefly: Techniques You Can Use in the 'Professional Field'" along with Konecri (author), Tamaken (author), Papa (author).

After graduating from Digital Hollywood University in 2012, he started his career at OLM Digital. He moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2017 and joined Sony Pictures Imageworks as an animator. Since 2023, he has been working as an animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Participating works include Moana 2 (2024), Jacob and the Sea Monster (2022), Monster Hotel 4 (2022), Monster Pet (2021), The Mitchell Family and the Machine Rebellion (2021), Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2019), Monster Hotel 3(2018), and more.
Sakura Koyama

After graduating from Kobe College, Sakura completed graduate study at Digital Hollywood University in 2006.
While working as a director of documentaries such as Dawn of Gaia and Non-fiction, she established Crenloo Inc, a video and film production company in 2008.
She is now producing programs in English for NHK World as well as appearing on screen as a reporting journalist. Currently she is in pre-production on an international film project with an American production company.
Norihiko Miyoshi
STUDIOHIKE Inc. Representative Director

Graduated from the Maya course in 2000 and the Masters class in 2001 at Digital Hollywood.
He has been involved in CGI direction mainly for theatrical animation works, contributing numerous works, including The Boy and the Heron. In 2020, he founded STUDIOHIKE Inc.

Keisuke Ito
XR Artist

Graduated from Digital Hollywood Tokyo in 2012, majoring in CGI animation, and is currently working as a freelance XR artist. In addition to the VR animation Sen and the VR play Typeman, his works have been screened at world-renowned events such as the Venice International Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, and SIGGRAPH. In the XR section of the Venice International Film Festival, since 2019, VR animation works directed by him have been screened for six consecutive years and nominated for five consecutive years.

Graduated from Digital Hollywood University in March 2011 and completed the master's degree program at Digital Hollywood Graduate School in March 2013. Student in the inaugural class of Digital Hollywood University. Ookouchi began his career at BANDAI NAMCO Games Inc. (now BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc.). He was involved in the production of PlayStation games at Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Japan Studio, and also in the launch of the business at Bushiroad Co., Ltd. during its founding period. He was primarily responsible for producing trading card games (TCG). In recent years, he has been engaged in the management of global businesses that cross national borders, such as the animation business under the umbrella of Tencent Holdings and NCJAPAN, which operates the Japanese business of NCSoft. He is also dedicated to training the next generation in the industry.
Toshiki Fujita
BATON Inc. Application development department

After graduating from Digital Hollywood University in 2015, Fujita joined Baton Inc. which operates QuizKnock. Experienced as the lead engineer for the quiz social game "CHI-KNOW CRISIS" with a quiz theme. After that, he was involved in the development of the web media "QuizKnock". Next, he wanted to create a game again, and turned the popular content "GENKAI SHIRITORI" from the YouTube channel "QuizKnock" into a smartphone game and released it as "GENKAI SHIRITORI Mobile", which achieved 1 million downloads. Another game he developed, "Minesweeper on a map of Japan" also won first place in the AppStore puzzle category.

Recent works include ""Avatar Robot Cafe DAWN ver.β"" (Ory Institute) where people with disabilities work with remote-controlled robots, ""Electric Salt Spoon"" (Kirin Holdings), a tableware-type device that uses the power of weak electricity to bring out the saltiness and umami of low-salt food, etc. He has won numerous awards including Cannes Lions, CES Innovation Awards, Prix Ars Electronica, D&AD, the Japan Media Arts Festival and Good Design Award.
Karen Hashimoto
Camp Jyoshi Inc.Representative

Born in 1990 in Kumamoto Prefecture. After graduating from university, she took a job in sales at a major cosmetics manufacturer. She was in charge of the whole Kyushu region, and was involved in supporting the beauty salon management, event planning, and product development. After seven years as an employee, she sought for a job related to the outdoors, and after training in Silicon Valley, she enrolled in G's ACADEMY Fukuoka DEV2. Won the GGA competition. In 2019, she incorporated Camp Jyoshi Inc., and is currently working as a consultant for outdoor facilities nationwide, as well as carrying out public relations and PR activities, and is currently building a campsite in Kumamoto Prefecture. Her hobby is sleeping in her car.

"Associate Professor, Department of Teaching and Learning Systems, Graduate School of Social and Cultural Sciences, Center for the Study of Teaching and Learning Systems, Kumamoto University. After completing the graduate school (English education) at Tokyo Gakugei University, Goda completed the master's and Doctoral programs at the Graduate School of Science and Education, Florida Institute of Technology, USA with a Fulbright Scholarship. She obtained a Ph.D. (Science Education).
While in graduate school in the U.S., Goda was a full-time lecturer at Shude University of Science and Technology in Taiwan for two years. After completing her doctorate, she became an adjunct instructor at the University of Florida's Graduate School of Education in the U.S. and an educational technology coordinator for the Marine Resources Council of East Florida, a non-profit environmental education organization.
Returning to Japan in 2005, Goda worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Aoyama Gakuin University Research Institute and as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Society, Otemae University before assuming her current position. Goda completed a master's degree in Digital Content Management from Digital Hollywood University Graduate School In March 2018. From 2021 to 2022, she worked as a Visiting Scholar at the Academic Innovation Center, University of Michigan, USA."
Ayuko Takagi

Completed doctoral course in Electrical Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Tokyo Metropolitan University. Doctorate (Engineering).
Takagi is Associate Professor at the Department of Business and Information Media, Shohoku Junior College, Sony Corporation, teaching courses such as "CG Theory","Web Basics", and "Game Design".
While supporting students in her teaching role, she also attended the Digital Hollywood University Graduate School, completing studies in Digital Contents in 2015.
Takagi is currently searching for effective educational methods for content creation.
She participates in Tokyo Game Show, Game Market and GlobalGameJam with her students every year.

Kouki Kageyama

A third-year student at Digital Hollywood University. He serves as the leader of the student organization "Bosai Me", where he is involved in disaster prevention awareness activities. In 2024, he founded Yappe Inc. to encourage people to take the first step in challenging themselves. Drawing on the knowledge he has gained at the university, he is creating practical services. Natsuki Mukai

A third-year student at Digital Hollywood University. Influenced by her aunt, she became interested in drawing and wanted to study design that would make people smile. Graphic design major. She has been working on advertising and logo creation, as well as being active as an actor in a theater group.
